Art at the Cathedral

I wanted to let you know about a unique exhibition at the historic St. James Cathedral in Seattle:

'CREATION,' a group show, is offered as part of a series of events at St. James Cathedral reflecting on the sacredness of creation. Artists featured include Janelle Bighinatti, Michael Shelby Edwards, Jenny Fillius, Georgetta Gancarz, Mike Lanka, Keegan O’Rourke, Trung Pham, Charles Prutting, Ron Simmons, Dan Tuttle, Elizabeth Winder and Leslie Zukor.

Reception Details:

On Friday May 24th, the evening will begin inside the Cathedral at 6:30pm with an ecumenical 'Taize' service. (Taize is a form of French monastic choral music.) People of all faiths are welcome to come experience this beautiful, contemplative music inside of the inspiring architectural setting of the Cathedral. At 7:15pm the Chapel will be open for viewing the artwork, and refreshments will be served in the Cathedral Courtyard until 830pm. All are welcome for any or all of this evening of music, art and discussion.

The work will be on view in the Cathedral Chapel April 14th - June 14th, from 9am – 5pm. Works are for sale.

Though I've shown work in commercial galleries, museums and alternative venues for many years, this is my first time showing art in a sacred space, so it feels especially personal to me. The St. James Cathedral has a fine reputation for fostering some of the best in art, architecture and classical music in Seattle, and I feel honored to be included in this show.
