phantasmata II : figure drawings from 2006-2012

"The first few drawings here represent a small selection of work done during my graduate studies at The Pennsylvania Academy from 2006 to 2008. ... The large scale drawing entitled, 'The Princess Who Came from the Coast,' completed...after my conversion to Catholicism, serves as a kind of epilogue ... Whereas the previous female figures were aggressively cropped, cut off from any physical location, and seemingly trapped in an alienated struggle, 'The Princess' is not isolated, but rather surrounded by symbolic figures to which she relates in a cosmic drama - figures that either harm or help her."
